I’m so inspired right now. It’s currently January 2nd as I’m writing this, and my year so far hasn’t been great. I’ve already managed to procrastinate my only sort of resolution. That “resolution” is to become the person I want to be, and do the things I want to do. It sounds quite easy, but that’s not the case, at least not for me. A big part of becoming, and being, a happier me is working out and living a healthy life, so I thought the New Year would be a good time to pick up running again, which I’ve been doing on & of for a while now. I planned on taking a run the very first day of the year, to really represent the New Year and the beginning of this change. Pretty much everyone is hung over and it’s quiet outside. But I didn’t go out for my run, I procrastinated it. And I didn’t go for a run today either, so as I said, not a great start.
But after that fairly negative note, I come with a much more positive and cheerful reminder; it is only January 2nd, the year is still new and there is still time to stick to your resolutions or to start the change. I look at these very first days of the year as “hung over days” where you are mentally hung over. I mean the celebrations and welcome parties to the New Year are massive, so it is okay to take a day or two extra to recharge those batteries so you can take on the New Year with full power.
If your year has started similar to mine I have one important thing to say to you: It’s NOT too late to start achieving your goals now! It doesn’t matter if you´re reading this in February, or even May, it’s still not too late! I intend to go out for my run tomorrow, and I’ll let you know how it goes. Let me know how your year has been so far!
I’ve got a post coming up soon about my method of staying motivated throughout the year, so stay tuned for that.
